Blogger's Quilt Festival : Spring 2011

My entry this Spring has to be the Pineapple Quilt that was finished not so long ago

All the blocks were traditionally pieced from 1 1/2 inch strips and it seemed that I spent more time cutting and pressing that I actually did sewing!

This quilt was really a case of make a few blocks then walk away until the next urge to carry on grabbed me, so it was some time in the making.  It is also the biggest quilt I've attempted to machine quilt, which again was a slow process!

But in spite of all the scorched fingers, aching shoulders and temper tantrums - I am glad that I stuck at it as I now have a lovely quilt!

Thanks to Amy for giving up her time to organise this event once again  !

Very nice!
I made a lap sized, browns and greens, pineapple quilt years and years ago but what a different the lighter brighter colors make! I really like your color choices! And I totally understand your pain!

This is the kind of quilt that you look at and immediately appreciate the amount of work that went into it.
A gorgeous quilt.

Oh very pretty! Fantastic work. I love that it looks so different in the small thumbnails and then becomes a different quilt when viewed bigger!

It's beautiful, but my curse jar would pay for a round the world cruise if I tried this one. You did an amazing job.

What a great pineapple quilt! It does indeed look labor intensive.

It's beautiful! I've been working on a pineapple quilt for a couple years now in the same way. Work a little, walk away and then back when the urge hits.
